Please note that as of June 1, enforcement of City code that limits grass height to no greater than 7 inches will resume. Now that you have had May to view your yard in a different way, we want to be sure that you end with a positive outcome. If you set out a lawn sign, be sure to remove it as well, and store it for reuse next year!

City Launches Police Advisory Board Application Process

At their regular meeting held on Feb. 13, Ferndale City Council approved an ordinance establishing a new Community Police Advisory & Review Board (CPARB). The City is now in the process of recruiting citizens interested in serving on the Board, which seeks to improve transparency and build relationships between the community and Ferndale Police Department.

Yard Waste Season Returns Monday, April 3

Yard waste collection is right around the corner! Curbside yard waste pickup will begin on Monday, April 3, 2023, and run through mid-December. Yard waste—including grass clippings, leaves, small sticks, and weeds—is collected weekly on your regular trash day. Yard waste should be placed in either a reusable container with a Ferndale Yard Waste Compost label (labels available at City Hall and the Public Works Yard) or paper kraft bags (available at most local hardware and home improvement stores).

Annual Budget Meeting to be Held Saturday, March 18

City Council Approves New Citizen Police Advisory and Review Board

2022 Property Tax Reminders

The last day to pay any remaining 2022 summer and/or winter property tax balance is Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Beginning March 1, 2023, all unpaid 2022 property taxes are delinquent and must be paid with additional penalties to the Oakland County Treasurer. During the months of March and April, a revised tax statement from the City of Ferndale must accompany your remittance to the Oakland County Treasurer.

Ferndale City Hall To Display Pan-African Flag In Honor Of Black History Month

For the third year in a row, Ferndale City Council has unanimously passed a resolution to raise the Pan-African flag outside City Hall in honor of Black History Month. The flag will be displayed for the entire month of February.
