Frozen Pipes: Prevention, Warning Signs and Tips

Ferndale is expected to receive extremely low temperatures in the coming days. With the incoming cold temperatures comes the potential for frozen pipes. We want to make you aware of potential signs of this occurrence, as well as ways to assist the problem. The most common sign of frozen pipes is low water pressure. Pipes that are most likely to freeze are often those that are exposed to the severe cold, typically outdoors, water supply pipes in unheated areas such as kitchens, attics, or garages, or pipes that run against exterior walls with limited insulation.
