Summer Property Tax Dollars Overview

Property tax season started on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. If you haven’t received your paper bill in the mail, please email taxbilling@ferndalemi.gov to receive a copy. You can pay online at bsaonline.com/?uid=512, by phone at 947-282-5306, by mail, or in person at the dropbox or front counter at City Hall. Tax bills are due by Friday, July 31, 2026, and City Hall will be open on that day only for property tax matters.

Please note: While the lift at City Hall is being repaired, we have installed a new phone at the building entrance. Press any button to reach City staff, and someone will come down to help you with payments, permits, or other needs. Pens and envelopes are available if you want to leave a check in the drop box.

If you want to know how your summer taxes are used, here’s a quick breakdown. Out of every dollar, 47 cents go to the City of Ferndale, 31 cents to Oakland County, 16 cents to the Ferndale School District, and 6 cents to the Ferndale Area District Library. Winter taxes are different and help fund Oakland County, transit, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Detroit Zoo.

If you have any questions, please call 248-546-2525 Ext. 166, email taxbilling@ferndalemi.gov, visit bit.ly/3XuR4WF, or stop by City Hall at 300 E. Nine Mile Road
