Senior Programs and Services

Ferndale Parks and Recreation Senior Services seek to provide recreational, social, and physical activities for our mature residents.

SENIOR GROUP

The Ferndale Senior Group (FSG) provides recreational opportunities for people ages 55 and above. The FSG meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. This is a great opportunity to see friends and neighbors, participate in activities, and more.

Membership is $15 for residents and non-residents, which includes a bi-monthly newsletter. A discounted annual parking pass of $10 (available to Ferndale residents only) can be obtained at the Park Ferndale Office, located at The dot, 221 W. Troy St., Ferndale, MI 48220, or City Hall, located at 300 E. Nine Mile Road, Ferndale MI 48220. Please note: The ParkFerndale Office does not accept cash. City Hall accepts all payment types. This parking pass is for off-street surface lots and does not include The dot parking garage. Members will need to create a profile to pay for membership.

The Ferndale Senior Group has recently changed the meeting location to the Hazel Park Recreation Center: 620 W Woodward Heights Blvd, Hazel Park, MI 48030. For more information, call Ferndale Parks and Recreation staff at 248-544-6767, ext. 503 or email Senior Group President Jeannie Davis at jeannie1111@comcast.net.
