Retiree Information

Welcome! This page has been developed so City of Ferndale retirees can get answers to questions relating to their retirement benefits. These are the two most common retirement programs available to City employees:

  • The City of Ferndale Defined Contribution Pension Program is the retirement program for civilian employees.
  • The City of Ferndale Police and Fire Pension System is for sworn police and fire employees.

Some of our most requested files are listed below for your convenience. If you are a current or future City of Ferndale retiree with questions, please contact the HR Retirement Specialist Emmanuel Robinson at 248-546-2525 Ext. 124.

When I become Medicare eligible, what do I need to do?

Medicare-eligible retirees currently receiving health care benefits from the City of Ferndale should present a copy of their Medicare card prior to eligibility if possible.  This allows the City to coordinate benefits between Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
