Business Registration Program

The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for providing inspection services to the community of Ferndale. These services include pre-construction site plan reviews, construction final inspections, and the management of the Commercial Resource Allocation and Emergency Planning Program. Under this program, the Bureau staff assume the role of fire safety inspectors and consultants.

The Bureau is also responsible for investigating all complex, fatal, and suspicious fires, including all arson and fire-related crimes within the city. Determining the origin and cause of a fire plays an integral role in preventing future incidents. Bureau personnel remain on call 24 hours a day to respond to fire incidents.

The Fire Department is looking for business owners who would be interested in allowing the Department to provide personalized fire safety education, hazard identification, and hazard mitigation services. Curious about joining the program? View this guide to learn more!
