Everything You Need To Know About The November 2 General Election


The next General Election is Tuesday, November 2, 2021. View the information below to cast your vote!

Extended Hours

Friday, October 29, 10:00am – 2:00pm

Saturday, October 30, 10:00am – 2:00pm

Sunday, October 31, 10:00am – 2:00pm

Six parking spots closest to the building are reserved for voters during these hours, so you will have no trouble parking. Please look for the bright orange “VOTER PARKING” signs.


Important Dates

Friday, October 29: This is the last day to request that your ballot be mailed to you. After 5:00 p.m. on Friday, ballots can no longer be mailed out. You can still pick up a ballot in person on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

Sunday, October 31: This is the last day you can pick up an absentee ballot (AV) at City Hall and take it home with you.

Monday, November 1: You can still get an AV ballot in person until 4:00 p.m., but you must vote inside City Hall. You can’t take your ballot out of the room.

After 4:00 p.m. on Monday, the City can’t issue AV ballots to anyone for any reason. However, if you are already in line by 4:00 p.m., you will still be served by staff. After this time, your remaining option will be to vote in person on Election Day.

ELECTION DAY – Tuesday, November 2: Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to cast your vote in person. City Hall is open for anyone who needs to register in Ferndale, or anyone who has moved and needs to update their address. All AV ballots must be signed and in the City’s possession by 8:00 p.m. in order to be counted.

New Polling Locations

Due to the Kulick Center being closed to the public, Precinct 3 and Precinct 9 have moved to Ferndale High School. If you are voting in person on Election Day, please review the map below to see where you will vote.

Election Day

On Tuesday, November 2 the polls open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. You must be in line at your registered polling location by 8:00 p.m. to vote.

If you have an AV ballot, it must be at City Hall by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2 to be counted. They can be mailed, dropped off in person, or placed in the dropbox outside of City Hall. If you are mailing your AV ballot, please make sure it is mailed in time to be at City Hall by Election Day. DO NOT bring AV ballots to a precinct.
