The 409 on 9 development located at 409 E. 9 Mile Rd. will consist of 127 apartment units, and a ground floor of 5,500 sq.ft. of commercial space. The site will support green space integrated at the front of the development. Parking will be located beneath the building, as well as behind the building, to support the residential and commercial uses.


Building construction commenced in summer 2019 and was completed in fall 2020.

  • What are the City's guidelines for demolition of buildings? The City requires anyone considering demolition of a structure to fill out a building permit and adhere to the City's demolition guidelines and Good Neighbor Policy.
  • Will the new on-street parking be public? Yes, the developer is building the 15-16 new on-street parking spaces, but the spaces will be part of the City parking system.
  • How long will E. Nine Mile have traffic control during construction? E. Nine Mile Road (between Leland and Paxton) will have temporary traffic control starting August 27th and ending September 19th. A flag operator will be on-street directing traffic between 8:30a-4p each day. Two-way travel will be provided outside of work hours.
