Welcome to Ferndale's Parks

The City of Ferndale is pleased to offer 14 parks, each providing a unique outdoor space for residents, visitors, and families to enjoy. Many of our parks are newly renovated and include amenities such as modern play equipment, sitting areas, walking paths/trails, athletics fields, a new dog run (with access for both large and small dogs), a sledding hill, and more. The Parks and Recreation Department adheres to the tradition of providing clean, green, safe, and accessible parks for the entire community to enjoy. What holidays are City Hall closed for?

City Hall is closed in observance of the following holidays:

  • New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and Thanksgiving Friday
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be celebrated as the holiday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be celebrated as a holiday.

What holidays does the City not collect garbage and recycling?

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

If your collection day falls on one of these holidays, please set your garbage containers at the curb the following day. This also includes the remainder of the days of that week following the holiday. Please note: If a holiday falls on a Sunday, collection will not be affected or delayed.
