We are happy to report the overall response of the Wilson Dog Park was generally positive. Our goal of this survey was to gauge the community response toward the dog park. We will use this feedback to ensure the park is the best it can be for residents and their furry friends!
Kyle Aderohunmu, Recreation Aide of Ferndale Parks and Recreation, expressed his feelings toward the results. “The final survey results were generally positive, which we feel validates a lot of the hard work that goes into making sure residents and their furry friends have a fantastic space that we all can enjoy,” He said.
Areas of the park that received positive attention were the maintenance and upkeep of the park, as well as comfort levels regarding pet owners and interactions inside the park. Aderohunmu believes this correlates with the effectiveness of the mandatory park pre-membership class.
Some concerns brought up by residents included security at the dog park. Aderohunmu assured they will be working closely with the Department of Public Works to implement a plan for improved security measures. Furthermore, more action will be taken to implement community events and activities, additional educational training, and improved amenities. “We have a targeted focus of getting residents to the park more often and to utilizing the space as effectively as possible,” He said.
