Do you have a project or business idea for the City of Ferndale that you’d like to make a reality? Ferndale SOUP, sponsored by Build Institute and the City of Ferndale, is currently accepting proposals for their event on Wednesday, September 19.
Ferndale SOUP is a microgranting dinner celebrating and supporting creative projects that benefit the Ferndale community. For a $5 donation at the door, attendees receive soup, salad, bread, and a vote. Throughout the evening attendees will hear from four presentations ranging from art, urban agriculture, social justice, social entrepreneurs, education, technology and more. The four presenters will have four minutes each to share their idea and answer four questions from the audience. At the end of the evening the ballots will be counted, and the winner will go home with all the money raised to help carry out their project.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at Rust Belt Market, 22801 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI.
Anyone interested in submitting an idea to SOUP can do so online.
Since 2010, Detroit SOUP has raised over $140,000 to support over 150 community projects. In 2017, Detroit SOUP became a program of Build Institute to strengthen the resources available to entrepreneurs in the Detroit and surrounding area.
