Peace Officers Memorial Day

May 15 is National Peace Officers Memorial Day, part of National Police week, which pays tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died, or who have been disabled, in the line of duty.

Normally the Ferndale Police Department would hold a service in front of City Hall, however this year is different—but the 146 officers who lost their lives in the line of duty have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, and children who are still living with the memory of their lost loved one.
