According to a press release issued by Point & Pay, one of the City of Ferndale's payment vendors, an issue with the company's electronic check debits caused some consumers to be debited twice for the same payment.
The issue affects electronic debit payments made on Monday, March 4, 2019. Electronic debit payments made on this date may have been debited again on Thursday, March 7.
Point & Pay's finance team has already initiated credits to all affected bank accounts. They will also reimburse any overdraft fees that may have resulted because of their error.
