Oak Park Nine Mile Redesign Kick Off

October 10, 2019

The City of Oak Park has been working on their Nine Mile redesign, and on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its completion. The ceremony will take place at 6:00p.m. in the new Seneca Pocket Park, located at the intersection of Nine Mile Rd. And Seneca St. There will be additional activities along Nine Mile Rd., including free food, demonstrations, giveaways, and more. All are welcome and invited to attend.

The City of Oak Park's Nine Mile Redesign is a grant-funded public improvement project that is bringing multiple new amenities to Nine Mile Rd., including a road diet, bike lanes, more parking, pocket parks, and a linear park. It is aimed at creating a vibrant streetscape, facilitating a more robust community culture, and increasing business growth for the benefit of residents of all ages.
