New Email Confirmation Service For Voters

October 1, 2020

The Ferndale City Clerk’s Office is excited to offer a new email confirmation service to voters this election season. If a voter has provided an email address on their absentee application, the Clerk's Office will now be able to send an email alerting the voter that:

-They are being sent an absentee ballot in the mail
-Their absentee ballot has been successfully received by the City Clerk's Office

The new system was made possible by students from the University of Michigan as part of an ongoing partnership with the City. The students worked with the Ann Arbor Clerk’s Office to develop the computer script using a software called PowerShell. The City of Ferndale is pleased to be on the forefront of offering this new service with the goal of giving voters transparency and peace of mind that every vote is counted.
