As spring weather returns and people start to spend more time outside, we want to remind everyone that local ordinances require all dogs be leashed in public spaces—including parks.
Keeping your dog on a leash in public spaces is a good neighbor policy that prevents your dog from trespassing on your neighbor’s property during walks. It also keeps your dog from jumping on people you encounter—ensuring that your dog has the chance of being properly introduced.
Please “love ‘em and leash ‘em”; doing so will help keep dogs out of busy roads and away from citizens who may be afraid or allergic. This ordinance is in place to keep you, your dog, and fellow residents safe.
If you are looking for an open space for you dog to run, fetch, and roam, please consider the Ferndale Dog Park.
