Ferndale Mayor Joins Clean Power Plan Support Initative

February 27, 2018

Joining mayors of 233 U.S. cities through the Climate Mayors initiative, Mayor David Coulter—along with the Ferndale City Council—has announced his support for the Clean Power Plan (CPP). This plan is essential to public health protection and is a climate change solution that sets the first-ever federal limits on carbon pollution from power plants and helps cities transition to a clean energy economy.

According the Climate Mayors, the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed appeal of the CPP would result in devastating health and economic impacts on communities, such as Ferndale, exposing residents to increased air pollution, worsening climate change, and stronger and more destructive extreme weather events. By supporting the Plan, we can all help create a healthier and more sustainable future for all generations in all areas of the country.
