Some residents in Ferndale will experience a brief power outage on Thursday, July 11, as DTE works to transition electrical customers to their new substation infrastructure, located at Nine Mile and Hilton.
The transition is part of a planned infrastructure upgrade that will provide area residents with access to an upgraded electrical system and more reliable power.
During the transitions, power will be turned off for customers for up to two hours. Changeovers are being scheduled by area/neighborhood. Thursday’s outage will affect the following area:
The area to be impacted by this interruption is approximately defined as follows: The north side of Woodward Heights on the south, the west side of Inman St. on the west, the south side of E. 10 Mile Road on the north, and the west side of Hilton Road on the east. This shutdown is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. It is scheduled to last approximately two hours.
In the event of inclement weather on Thursday, July 11, this job will be postponed until Friday, July 12.
DTE reports that all affected electrical customers have received direct communication from the utility company about this planned work.
