We recently conducted a survey regarding the Inclusive Housing Plan. The policy was adopted on December 18, 2017, to help facilitate the creation of affordable housing units in the City. The City of Ferndale believes in inclusiveness as a key part of Ferndale’s identity as a community. A wider range of quality housing options in Ferndale is essential for our community to be inclusive. This plan will provide options to represent a range of people, housing types, and prices to ensure equitable access for residents of the community. Though the City government is taking an extensive role in facilitating this process, civic engagement is a crucial part of this process.
On February 26, 2020, join us for a community meeting and hear from City staff and housing experts from LSA & Associates. We’ll talk about survey results, provide an update to the City’s Community Affordability and Inclusive Housing Action Plan – including draft goals and definitions – and answer questions about affordable and inclusive housing.
The key word is “community”: the more who participate, the stronger the outcome. All are encouraged to attend, learn, and share feedback. If you would like to find out more information about this plan, please click here.
