Assists Parks & Recreation Director and Deputy Director with all aspects of planning, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating daily activities for our senior group. Will be responsible for scheduling transportation, dispatch of Smart transport, file retention, and report generation for our SMART transportation services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Special Events Coordinator: Design room set-ups, decorations, event attendant, open event for registration in Active.net, obtain food & supplies/caterer, assist Ferndale Senior Group volunteers, create event flyer.
• Assists with customer services, activity registration, building functions, and events and programs.
• Senior Group Travel: Attend Senior Group Travel Committee Meetings (Third Monday of each month.), schedule bus for senior group trips, book the trip, book the restaurant, create a flyer, build trip for registration in Active.net.
• Senior Services: Referral desk - incoming calls for Senior support services, (medical, legal, housing, social), direct callers to appropriate agencies and/or websites,
• AARP Tax Aide: Receive incoming calls for information regarding free tax preparation procedure at Kulick, prepare weekly sign-in sheets, schedule callers with disabilities, assist AARP tax aide staff and volunteers with any special request.
• Publish Ferndale Senior Group Newsletter, print and mail.
• Front Desk: Customer services, activity registration, incoming phone calls, mail distribution, balance daily cash receipts in Active.net, post community and organizational flyers.
• Schedule request for transportation and return trips, re-route driver as necessary

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited High School or equivalent
• Valid state drivers' license
• Clean driving record
