The Elections Specialist position is focused on voter relationships and election services including data entry, communications, the maintenance of voter registration database, and more complex aspects of election administration. The Elections Specialist serves as recording secretary to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. This is a visible and crucial position requiring exceptional computer, voter relations, and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates, organizes, and documents all legal aspects of an assigned specialty required to hold elections.
  • Oversees all aspects of ballot processing, including mailing, receiving, and preparing for delivery to Absent Voter Counting
  • Prepares for an election following all Federal and Michigan election
  • Performs election setup and testing to accurately count ballots and report
  • Conducts absentee voting.
  • Recruits, trains, assigns, and schedules precinct
