City Council

The City of Ferndale is governed by a mayor and four-member City Council. Mayor and council elections occur every other odd year—the mayor being elected every two years, and council members every four with two being up for election in any given election cycle. For information about Ferndale’s government structure, see the organizational chart.

Council Meetings

Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.

Discourse with Dignity

Whether you’re attending a meeting of City Council, or a board or commission, first and foremost we are glad to have you here. We value public engagement above all else, and we welcome your respectful participation. To ensure that Ferndale public bodies’ meetings run smoothly and effectively and that every person has the chance to be recognized and heard, the City follows Ferndale City Council’s Rules of Procedure and Robert’s Rules of Order, most recent version, as amended. The City has also prepared our Discourse with Dignity: Guidelines for Public Bodies Meeting Participation to help you understand how and when to participate effectively.
